Terms of sale

These terms cover the Verify and Appraise reports you buy at verify.veradis.ai. By buying a report you agree to them.

1 · Who we are

Stripe is the merchant of record for your purchase. We produce your report and every promise in these terms is ours. Stripe sells it to you through Link, takes the payment, and collects and remits the sales tax or VAT wherever you are. Stripe's own terms cover the payment itself, and Stripe may refund a payment on its own account.

Your card or bank statement will show LINK.COM* VERADIS. Link is how Stripe sells and settles this purchase. Some of our records and filings still carry our former registered name, "NNEAR AI INC.", while the British Columbia change to Veradis Intelligence INC. is completed. It is the same company.

You must be at least 18 to buy a report.

2 · What you are buying

You send us a collectible object — a watch, a medal, an artwork, silver or another piece — with photographs and details. We check the record against the sources named in your report, and against the veradis network — the objects and links already in it.

What we check. We check the record against named sources and we name every one in the report. We do not run a stolen-property registry search, and this report is not a theft or title check. Checking Interpol, the FBI Art Crime Team, ICOM Red Lists and the Art Loss Register is your own diligence and remains yours.

You get back a Provenance Confidence Score: a result, a score out of 100, a confidence interval, and the sources we relied on, named wherever we are permitted to name them.

Appraise adds an indicative market value drawn from documented sales.

3 · What the report is, and what it is not

This Provenance Confidence Score is a probabilistic verification report based on digital data analysis cross-referenced against the veradis knowledge graph. It is intelligence, not insurance. It does not constitute a legal certificate of authentication, a guarantee against loss, or an indemnity against fraud. For high-value transactions, buyers should conduct physical inspection by a qualified specialist. veradis is not liable for financial loss resulting from reliance on this report.

We check the record. We do not examine the object. Nobody at veradis sees, handles or tests it. We see what you send us and what the records say.

An indicative value in an Appraise report is not a certified appraisal.

A Flagged result means the records we could reach contain something inconsistent with the object as you described it. It is not a finding that your object is stolen or counterfeit, it is not a report to any authority, and it is for your own use.

Section 9 sets out the limits of our liability in full. Where this section and section 9 differ, section 9 applies.

4 · How your report arrives

We take payment first and ask for your photographs on the next screen.

Once you upload, we produce one report and send it to you within 24 hours.

There is one report. We do not send you a provisional version first and revise it later, and there is no second version to wait for. What you receive is the report.

The result is decided by automated analysis alone. Nobody at veradis sets your score or your valuation, and nobody can change them on the way to you. A person does send the report to you, and sending is all they do. Nobody examines your object and nobody handles it: we check the record, not the thing.

If you think a result is wrong, section 8 tells you how to have a person look at it — and that person can change it.

If something is down at our end and we are going to miss the 24 hours, we will email you, and you can have your money back.

5 · Price, payment and tax

Our prices are set in Canadian dollars. In some currencies we set our own price directly rather than converting it; in the rest, Stripe converts from the Canadian price at checkout.

Buying from Canada, the price shown is before tax and tax is added at checkout. Everywhere else, the price shown includes tax. Either way, the total you will pay is shown before you confirm, and that is the figure charged.

Payment is taken through Stripe, which is the merchant of record and accounts for any tax due. Your card details never reach our servers.

6 · If your report is wrong, tell us

We will correct it at no charge. If we cannot correct it, you get your money back. Write to support@veradis.ai.

7 · Refunds, and changing your mind

The rules are in our Refund policy, which is short and forms part of these terms.

Before you upload an object, you can cancel and get all of your money back, for any reason, at any time. There is no deadline. If you have not uploaded within 30 days we refund you without being asked.

Once you upload, we start immediately. At that point, if you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you are asking us to begin straight away and you accept that you lose the 14-day right to cancel. We ask you to confirm that on the final order screen, immediately before you are sent to our payment processor — the box is unticked until you tick it, and we cannot open checkout until you do. If you live in Switzerland or Canada the law does not give you that right for a purchase like this — we give you the same protection anyway.

Stripe holds your payment, so we instruct Stripe to make the refund. That is our arrangement to manage, not yours. If a refund we have promised does not reach you, write to support@veradis.ai and we will pay you direct.

None of this affects the refunds in the Refund policy, which apply whatever happens.

8 · Ask a person to look at it

The result in your report was decided by a machine, and no person reviewed it before it reached you. If you think it is wrong — whether you bought it or your object or your name appears in it — write to appeals@veradis.ai. A person will review it, tell you the outcome and the reasons, and can change the result. There is no deadline and it costs nothing.

If you find new evidence about an object we have scored — a receipt, a service record, a letter, a photograph — send it to appeals@veradis.ai and we will add it and score the object again, free, up to ten documents per object. A new score can go up or down. We will not hold back a worse answer because you paid for a better one.

9 · Our liability

We do not limit our liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud; our intentional wrongdoing or gross negligence; and anything else the law where you live does not allow us to limit.

For everything else, our total liability for any claim arising out of a report is limited to the greater of what you paid for that report and CAD 2'500.

We cannot promise the service will always be available.

We are not a valuer, an insurer, an auction house or a certifying body, and we do not hold ourselves out as one.

10 · What you and we each own

You keep your photographs and your documents. You give us permission to use them to produce and support your report and to make the network more accurate.

Your report is yours. Show it to a buyer, a seller, an insurer or an estate. You may not resell the service or present a report as your own certification. The scoring method, the veradis network and the report format stay ours.

11 · Your responsibilities, and ours

• What you send us is accurate, and yours to send.
• You have the right to seek verification of the object.
• You will not use the service for an object you know to be stolen, or to launder or misrepresent an object.

We can decline or cancel an order and refund you, without giving a reason, and we can suspend an account that breaks these terms.

12 · Your data

Card details are handled by Stripe and never touch our infrastructure. Everything else is in our Privacy policy — read it before you upload documents about your family.

13 · Your statutory rights

Nothing in these terms removes or reduces a right you have under the consumer law of the country you live in. Where a sentence here conflicts with such a right, the right wins and the sentence does not apply to you.

If a court finds any sentence unenforceable, the rest still applies.

14 · Governing law, and where a dispute is heard

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada.

You can bring a claim against us where you live, or in British Columbia, whichever you prefer. We will only bring a claim against you where you live, unless you have used the service fraudulently.

15 · Language

16 · Changes

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published here on the day you bought.
